Transition is used to refer to situations where an employee has to change workplace under various circumstances, e.g. redundancy or illness. Transition involves adjusting to another job within or outside of KI.
In the event of redundancy due to a shortage of work, for example, a manager may need support in order to handle the situation that arises.
There are guidelines for handling shortage of work at KI and Omställningsavtalet (employment transition agreement).
The employment transition agreement is a collective agreement for the public sector, the purpose of which is to facilitate transition for the employer and personnel affected by redundancy.
In accordance with central agreements, KI annually allocates 0.3% of the salary sum for skills development and competence exchange measures. The long-term purpose of the measures will be active transition work. The use of remedies requires a decision within the KI.
