What is your position at NVS? What will you be working with?

I am a new PhD student at NVS (FiH) under the supervision of Erika Franzén. I will work on investigating motor cognition during complex gait and its relationship with aging and especially Parkinson's disease.

What division will you work at?

The Division of Physiotherapy.

What do you most look forward to in your new job?

I am most looking forward to staying and working in a stimulating academic environment and feel that I actually contribute to the understanding of health.

Where were you previously employed? What is your background?

I have a master's degree from KTH in Medical Technology and have for the past couple of years worked as a software developer in a MedTech company (development of PACS, RIS, and various others). It was rewarding too, but I felt it was time for something more academic.

What do you do in your spare time?

I like cooking, a good book, and a good cup of tea (or maybe a glass of wine sometimes). I like to go hiking when I can, too.

What are you reading?

I am reading a collection of essays called Mortal Questions by the author Thomas Nagel.

What is the most beautiful place you have visited?

Shirakawa-gō in Japan is probably one of them.

What makes you really happy?

Discovering new things, whether it's a beautiful new place or some fascinating topic.
