What is your mission at NVS?/What will you be working with?

I am a new postdoc in the machine learning filed. I will be working with the SveDem registry. 

Which division will you be working at?

The Division of Clinical Geriatrics.

What do you look forward to the most in your new position? 

To increase my knowledge on machine leaning algorithms and statistical learning models for a better modeling and interpretation of heterogeneous, high dimensional, and longitudinal data in the field of neuroscience. Also, the collaboration network comprising of a multidisciplinary research environment renders a great opportunity, paves my way to a more fulfilling academic/scientific career path, as well as broadening the spectrum of my collaborations with medical/biomedical centers and academic organizations.

Where have you been active before and what have you done earlier?

I was an assistant professor in biostatistics at the Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (KUMS), Iran. Also, I have been the head of Biostatistics and Epidemiology Unit, Rheumatology Research Center (RRC), Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Iran for the last eight years.

When you are not working, what do you do for recreation?

I usually watch movies and sometimes take short trips in nature.

Are you reading a book at the moment? Which one?

Yes, The unbearable lightness of being by Milan Kundera.

Tell us about the most beautiful place you have visited?

It must be the Gisum Forest in Northern Iran.

What makes you happy?

Good team work, traveling, nature.
