About me

  • I am a postdoctoral researcher interested in computational aspects of complex brain dynamics, large-scale brain networks, and their low-dimensional embeddings. I'm especially interested in how large-scale interaction in brain network give rise to cognitive functions, especially working memory.

    I did my Ph.D. in Mathematics in the field of complex systems dynamics from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur India in 2018. I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Theoretical Neuroscience Group, Institute de Neuroscience des Systems, Aix-Marseille University, Marseille, France in the EU flagship project entitled “Human Brain Project” from 2019 to 2021. I studied the mean-field behavior of the large-scale network of spiking neurons and modeled the dynamics guided by in vitro experiments on the hippocampi of mice, with a focus on identifying biomarkers for neurodegenerative disease and especially for epilepsy. After that, I worked as a postdoctoral scientist at the Cognitive &
  • Systems Neuroscience group, SILS, University of Amsterdam from 2022 to 2023. My research at UvA centers on the computational modeling of large-scale brain dynamics for working memory and decision-making and its application in cognitive behavior in human and non-human primates (especially mice). In this context, I am investigating the role of GABAergic interneurons and excitation inhibition balance in the maintenance of working memory.
