Data breach in the Canvas learning platform - incident resolved

The incident is now resolved.

Canvas was recently the target of a data breach in which data such as names, email addresses and the content of private messages was leaked. It has been confirmed that students and staff using Canvas at KI have been affected.

As a general precaution, please be wary of suspicious emails or other attempts to contact you.

Ten years of research collaboration between KI and MSD

Karolinska Institutet and MSD are celebrating ten years of strategic research collaboration focused on patient-centred, registry-based research. Over the past decade, the collaboration has resulted in more than 40 joint studies and, to date, around 30 scientific publications.

Apply for funding in 2027 to develop or implement cutting-edge technologies or methods that cannot wait for the 2028 call. Up to 16 MSEK is available for innovative, needs-driven investments that strengthen KI’s research infrastructure.

New entrance to Campus Solna

From Thursday 14 May, a new entrance for pedestrians and cyclists will open at the junction of Solnavägen and Nobels väg, replacing the current entrance at Solnavägen and the access road to the E4/Essingeleden.

New search service for research information launched at KI

A new search service for research information is now being launched at KI. The service is based on data from KI RIMS, which collects and organises information about researchers, research groups, publications and research grants.

Expression of interest - assignments on the Docent Committee and the Recruitment Committee

There is now an opportunity for those who wish to contribute to KI’s quality assurance and academic development by serving as chair, vice-chair or members of the Docent Committee or the Recruitment Committee. The call for expressions of interest is open from 7 May to 1 June 2026.

KI launches its own journal list

Karolinska Institutet has now launched the first version of its own journal list, KI JL, in which scientific journals are level-graded based on peer review. The list is intended to support researchers in decisions about publishing and journal quality and will be used in the university’s resource allocation.

Cells, nerves, genes at the Nobel Prize Museum

See images, books, and instruments representing centuries of exploration into the smallest details of the human body. The exhibition takes its inspiration from the Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine awarded between 1931 and 1933 and runs until 29 November 2026.
