About me

I am a PhD student at the Aging Research Center (ARC) working under the main supervision of Assoc. Prof. Weili Xu. My research focuses on the connection between cardiometabolic disease (i.e. type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke) and dementia. This spans the association of cardiometabolic diseases with various cognitive phenotypes, the mechanisms underlying this, and whether the effect of cardiometabolic diseases on the brain can be mitigated by healthy lifestyle factors.

I have a bachelor's degree in neuroscience from Swarthmore College (USA) and a master's degree in neuroscience from the University of Helsinki (Finland). In between these degree programs I spent two years working as a science writer focused on the global diabetes/obesity epidemic.
