About me

I am a second-year PhD student at the Aging Research Center (ARC). My research focuses on the connection between cardiometabolic disease (i.e. type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke) and dementia. This spans the association between cardiometabolic diseases and various cognitive phenotypes, the mechanisms underlying this, and whether the effect of cardiometabolic diseases on the brain can be mitigated by healthy lifestyle factors. My PhD project is supervised by Weili Xu, together with Anna Marseglia and Davide Vetrano, and is affiliated with the Swedish Graduate National School on Aging and Health (SWEAH).

I have a bachelor's degree in neuroscience from Swarthmore College (USA) and a master's degree in neuroscience from the University of Helsinki (Finland). In between these degree programs I spent two years working as a science journalist focused on the global diabetes/obesity epidemic.
