Research description
The current focus of my applied work is on molecular data and its use in clinical and epidemiological applications. This includes working with gene expression microarrays as well as SELDI-TOF mass spectrometry, mostly in the context of cancer. My theoretical work is generally motivated by the high-dimensional nature of these molecular data sets and attempts to address the problem of multiple testing through variants of the false discovery rate.
I also feel strongly about making theoretical ideas available as software tools. Consequently, I maintain several packages for the statistical program R available at the Bioconductor repository.
