I am a doctoral candidate in epidemiology in Professor Catarina Almqvist Malmros research group and licensed physician training in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine.
My PhD studies focus on the comorbidity, causes and consequences of asthma and type 1 diabetes in children, combining nationwide Swedish healthcare-, demographic-, quality-, and twin registers, while using a range of epidemiological methods, such as family-based design.
Other research interests lie at the intersection of pediatrics, obstetrics, anesthesiology and intensive care medicine; for instance, drug utilization and safety during pregnancy and risk factors or outcomes of maternal morbidity/mortality and adverse perinatal events, including methods for causal inference from observational data.
Additional professional interests include medical education; I teach epidemiology/scientific development and professional development, co-supervise master thesis projects and mentor medical students, all in the medical programme at Karolinska Institutet.
