About me

After completing my BSc and MSc studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Madrid (Madrid, Spain), and encouraged from a major in Biomedical Engineering at the Tampere University of Technology (Tampere, Finland), I decided to pursue my doctoral education at the Spanish Cardiovascular Research Center (Madrid, Spain).

Thanks to the latter I gained great experience in cardiac arrhythmia and cardiovascular disease research, which also propelled me to my next stay as postdoctoral researcher at the Vall d'Hebrón Research Institute (Barcelona, Spain). Interestingly, I could apply my prior doctoral education to study cardiovascular affectations in type 2 diabetes patients, while deepening into another major incident disease. These experiences now take me to Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden), where we research on breast cancer to enhance current diagnosis, treatment and prognosis using deep learning approaches.

Speaking of the technical side, I account with prior experience in 3D computer graphics, visualization and image processing (working with MR and PET/CT images), data science and ultimately, deep learning.

Balance is all about.

Apart from science and technology, I enjoy nature, rock music and martial arts.

Along with curiosity and teamwork, these make colourful science possible.
