About me

I am a hand surgeon and a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon working at the Dept of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Karolinska University Hospital. Clinically, my main interests are cerebral palsy, arthrogryposis (AMC), limb deficiencies, spina bifida (MMC), developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and trauma. My PhD from 2004 investigated tendon transfer mechanics and properties of spastic muscle.

Research description

Our main research focus is to explore dynamic adaptations of the muscle in cerebral palsy on molecular, cellular and functional levels, with special emphasis on the mechanisms of contracture formation and the influence of treatments.

The group includes
