My research in general concerns the societal, social and psychological factors that constitute the determinants, as well as sequela of health of individuals and populations, with a main focus of mental health. Currently, I am leading the research program Resiliency, Mental health, and Social  participation among Refugees, (RMSR), which focuses on protective and risk factors embedded in lives of forced migrant populations, and am also involved in research concerning psychological health in the context of breast cancer. I have a particular interest in advancement and adaptation of empirical, conceptual, and methodological approaches in conjunction of the fields of health sciences and behavioral and social sciences, and regard the potential of research to contribute to a better lives for individuals and populations who have experienced adverse life altering events, a primary research motive.
