Research description
My research is done on the new field of aeromicrobiology focusing on aerosol transmissible diseases, more specifically Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). This is further divided into two projects, the study of survivability and fitness of Mtb in aerosols and the study of Mtb aerosols infection dynamics.
In our lab we apply the methods we are developing to study the aeromicrobiology of Mtb to other aerosol transmissible diseases such as SARS-CoV-2 and we perform clinical and environmental aerosol studies were we collect air-samples to study disease propagation and aerobiome respectively.
