Keshab Deuba
About me
With over a decade of experience across international development, academia, and various UN agencies, Dr. Keshab Deuba has played a pivotal role in enhancing HIV surveillance systems and strategic response efforts throughout the Asia-Pacific region. His work is characterized by a deep commitment to robust program monitoring, evaluation, and community-based participatory research, especially aimed at empowering key and vulnerable populations impacted by TB and HIV.
Dr. Deuba's contributions extend beyond his primary focus, making significant strides in health policy and systems research. He addresses critical issues in communicable diseases, including HIV, hepatitis C, and tuberculosis, and tackles pressing global health challenges such as mental health and gender-based violence. His passion for social epidemiology and public health research drives him to collaborate on, design, and implement projects that aim to improve public health outcomes. A strong advocate for leveraging health facility data, Dr. Deuba promotes the use of systems like DHIS2 to bolster the skills of health workers in low- and middle-income countries.
He holds an MMSc in Epidemiology and a Ph.D. in Public Health from the Department of Global Public Health at Karolinska Institutet.
