Postdoc

I am a researcher in the field of alcohol and drug prevention. During my PhD I worked on the evaluation of a potential treatment of alcohol use disorder.

About me

I am currently doing a postdoc at STAD (Stockholm prevents alcohol- and drug-related problems) at the Centre of Psychiatry research in Stockholm. For my post-doc project I research on alcohol- and drug use in young adults. During my PhD I focused on the effect of alcohol on the brain and evaluated a potential novel medication for alcohol addiction. I have a broad knowledge in neuroscience, neuropharmacology and psychiatry research and my background is in biomedicine. Substance abuse disorders and other psychiatric disorders form a huge burden on a relative young population. My goal is to contribute to reduce this burden.

Research description

In the EU-project Alama nightlife we study drug use patterns and trajectories in visitors of electronic dance music events. This project is a collaboration between Sweden, Belgium, UK, the Netherlands and Italy. It involves a variety of methods, such as online surveys, biological sampling as well as qualitative methods.
