My main current interest is physical exercise and the effects on the brain.
Psychiatric epidemiology and intervention studies. Recently finished an intervention study- Regassa- a RCT with internetbased cognitive behavioural therapy, physical exercise and treatment as usual for mild to moderate depression. It was a collaboration between 6 county councils, Lunds university and KI. 946 patients were included.
September 2015 I started a new intervention study Fitforlife which aims at increasing functioning (cognitive and social) in young persons with first episode psychosis by using physical exercise.
Both studies collaborate with Center of Molecular Medicine with the aim of looking at inflammatory markers and epigenetics.
Previously I was PI for a large population based longitudinal study-- the PART study, looking at tisk and protective factors for mental health.
Course responsibel for Applied Epidemiology II which is a course in the third term in the track Master in Public Health Epidemiology. Main teaching areas; epidemiology, psychiatric disorders, physical exercise.
