Photo: N/AThe exploratory approach – when the need and the solution are unclear
An exploratory approach is suitable for complex projects that require further investigation and where the problem is not yet fully defined. The work is carried out iteratively, with scope for testing along the way, and learning becomes an important part of the process.
Documentation is used at different stages and for different purposes, and is developed as knowledge increases.
Photo: N/AThe planning approach – when the purpose and objectives are clear
Use the planning approach when the objectives, scope and schedule can be defined right from the start of the project. The model consists of defined phases that help you make decisions at the right time and build a shared understanding.
The purpose of documentation here is to ensure traceability, transparency and the ability to follow up.
