Specially Equipped Educational Facilities

Department of Physiology and Pharmacology (FyFa)

FyFa has specially equipped educational facilities located in the Scheele Laboratory (on the third floor, Solna) for human experiments, including exercise tests and ergometer cycle tests, ECG, respiratory capacity, and various pharmacological experiments, as well as smaller rooms for vision and hearing experiments.

Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS)

CNS has specially equipped educational facilities located in the new St. Erik’s Eye Hospital (Eye Centre of Excellence, Solna) for preclinical and clinical skills training for eye examinations. The facilities include the patient reception (Optician Center) and KUM-Ö (Clinical Education Reception Eye).

Department of Clinical Science, Intervention, and Technology (CLINTEC)

CLINTEC has specially equipped educational facilities in ANA 10 (Flemingsberg) with lab rooms for audiometry.

Department of Laboratory Medicine (LABMED)

LABMED has specially equipped educational facilities in ANA Futura (on the ) with three “wet labs” and a microscopy lab. The labs are equipped with, among other things, fume hoods, fume benches, and LAF benches. Additional equipment for electrophoresis and PCR is also available, as well as access to confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, mass spectrometry, etc.

Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB)

At MBB, there are course laboratories located in the Scheele Laboratory (Solna). The facilities are specialized for teaching of experimental approaches in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, organic chemistry and biophysics.

Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC)

At MTC, there are specially equipped educational facilities for experiments with cells and microbes located in the Scheele Laboratory (Solna). The equipment includes, among other things, microscopes, incubators for bacteria, refrigerators, centrifuges, and general equipment for working with microbes and cells, access to cell culture rooms with flow hoods and incubators, as well as a dark room for microscopy.

Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS)

NVS has two specially equipped educational facilities located in Flemingsberg (ANA 23). (1) The methodology room with examination tables, posters, skeletons, wall bars, etc. (2) A training apartment for practicing home care, palliative and advanced home care, testing aids, transfer skills, and training IPL.

Neuro has two specially equipped educational facilities located in the Berzelius Laboratory (Solna). (1) Dissection room with embalming, storage, and changing rooms. (2) Methodology room for anatomy studies (plastic models), experiments, and microscopy.
