Employee survey on sustainable development with a focus on environment and climate, NVS 2023
THANK YOU to all 152 employees who responded to the spring survey on sustainable development with a focus on the environment and climate! Employees of different ages, professions, and positions and from all departments responded.

Here is a summary of the results:
- NVS employees demonstrate good environmental attitudes and understanding of sustainable development, including the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable development Goals (SDG).
- Many employees have not yet completed KI's digital course "Getting started with the SDGs".
- At NVS, all 17 SDGs can be linked to employees' work. A large proportion work with goal 3 (good health and well-being) while more than half work with goal 4 (good education). Many also work with goals 5, 10, 12, 13 and 16. A small proportion work with the other goals.
- Most employees believe that sustainable development is important for healthcare and education but feel that they lack knowledge about implementation or how to deal with environmental issues in their profession.
- A large proportion of employees are not confident in their ability to talk about environmental issues or inspire sustainability efforts.
- Employees express challenges in implementing sustainable development at work such as lack of knowledge/inspiration, lack of time, limited support functions and difficulties in changing norms/behavior.
- A large proportion of employees would like to participate in workshops on training for sustainable development.
- A significant number of employees do not use active transportation to/from work regularly but may be interested in a leasing bike through their employer.
- About half of the employees choose food options with low environmental and climate impact when food is served at KI events.
- Employees have also indicated in many ways how they act to reduce their climate impact at work and have given many suggestions for how KI can increase its commitment to sustainability-related issues.
