Temporary rules regarding Travel Grants 2019-2022

Regarding travel grants and the current situation with the Corona virus.

A new decision has been made and we will extend the disposition period for KI Travel Grants and Hirsch Travel Grants. In the case of allowances for journeys granted during the autumn and winter of 2019/2020, the whole 2021 and 2022, a general postponement of the travel period is provided until December 31, 2022, provided that it relates to journeys granted for purposes that can be carried out in the same way as intended in the application, but must be postponed. For example, it may affect planned exchanges and visits to institutions abroad.

If a travel grant has been received for any journey that must be canceled, the grant must be refunded. This concern for example conferences, where it is not allowed to attend another conference on another occasion. However, granted funds can be used for any costs connected to cancellation of the trip.

For the call for KI travel grants for research stays for doctoral students, the travel period for the calls VT19, HT19 and VT20 is extended to December 2022.
