Welcome Sophia Humphries!
New postdoc at NVS.

What is your mission at NVS?/What will you be working with?
I am a postdoc and will be working with David Moulaee Conradsson and his group. A main focus of this research is on how we can improve general health and wellbeing after stroke or transitoric ischemic attack (TIA) through the application of telehealth.
Which division will you be working at?
At the Division of Physiotherapy.
What do you look forward to the most in your new position?
I look forward to gaining a new perspective through working in a relatively new research area for me and with people who have different research or educational backgrounds than I have.
Where have you been active before and what have you done earlier?
I moved to Sweden from the U.K. in 2018 to start my PhD at Uppsala University. My background is within psychology but my most recent research has focused on the connection between cardiac diseases and psychological health, as well as using eHealth to provide digital interventions and data collection.
Are you reading a book at the moment? Which one?
I’m currently reading Swimming Home with my book club. We meet regularly so I’m often reading a mixture of genres.
When you are not working, what do you do for recreation?
I like to cook and I enjoy baking, training, and walking (usually whilst talking to my family or friends from home). I like being busy, so I’m often meeting friends or colleagues after work too.
Tell us about the most beautiful place you have visited?
Lake Garda in Italy was one of the most spectacular spots I’ve stayed in. I also got to recently experience a proper sunset over the sea in Gotland, which was incredibly beautiful.
What makes you happy?
Small things like a really upbeat song.
