Walk and talk guide Solna
Having a meeting on foot isn’t just good for the health – it’s also good for creativity and decision-making. Use our pre-planned routes and find out just how healthy a meeting can be!
The increasing sedentariness of modern society poses one of the greatest threats to our health. A recently collated overview of the relevant research shows that people who remain seated for long periods run a higher risk of disease and premature death than those who are least sedentary. But it isn’t hard to do something about it. Many studies show that short breaks from the chair have a positive effect on blood sugar levels, waist measurements, blood lipids, wellbeing and other such variables. It’s all about getting the muscles moving regularly.
Having a meeting on foot isn’t just good for the health – it’s also good for creativity and decision-making. If your group is made up of five people or fewer, “Walk and talk” is an excellent idea for a meeting; you can even save all your ideas and decisions on your smartphone’s voice recorder. Use our pre-planned routes and find out just how healthy a meeting can be!
The guide has been produced by Ellen Gustavsson Segerhag, reg. nurse and Mai-Lis Hellenius, professor and consultant, both from the Department of Medicine, Karolinska Institutet (Solna)
