Gym House Rules

Welcome to our campus gyms! Here we take responsibility for the facilities, the equipment and respect each other.

Here you are expected to:   

  • follow our house rules and adhere to KI Code of Conduct
  • bring your KI card
  • be clean from alcohol, drugs and doping*

* Doping substances that are illegal according to the Doping Act 1§d 

We do not tolerate inappropriate behaviour, theft or vandalism - this may result in you being suspended from the facility. In case of suspicion of violation of the Doping Law, the police will be informed.  

Important information

You are using the gym at your own risk. When you exercise in our facilities, it counts as leisure time and not working time. You must therefore ensure that you have private accident insurance.

House Rules

  • Use the indoor shoes in the gym. Wear shoes that do not leave marks on the floor (sports hall).
  • Take care of your valuables.
  • Put away and wipe the equipment after you.
  • Wear workout clothes. Exercising shirtless is not allowed.
  • Practice safely. Ask if you need help  
  • Avoid perfume. Many people have difficulty tolerating strong fragrances.
  • Keep lifting platforms free of other equipment.
  • Use magnesium blocks (liquid chalk is not allowed).

On Base, no drops of weights are allowed from 6.30 am to 5 pm on weekdays. 

Our coaches have priority access to areas of the gym when they have instruction and classes.

For your and other people´s safety and comfort we have some guidelines.

General guidelines

  • Remember to cancel classes you cannot attend. After four no-shows you will not be able to book for two weeks. 
  • Use the lockers during your workout. Don´t leave your stuff overnight. The lockers open automatically at night. We are not responsible for any personal belongings.
  • Outdoor shoes are not allowed in the gym or in the locker rooms.
  • Leave food and drink outside the gym.
  • Use waste sorting bins (Solna).
  • Don´t let anyone unauthorized in.

"Strong" (lifting area)

  • Use proper lifting techniques. If you are unsure, please book a strength class.
  • Compressed chalk is allowed. Use the chalk bucket.
  • Lift weights in a controlled manner. Don´t drop the weights.
  • During peak hours, allow others to work in.
  • Check the schedule before you arrive. Schedules classes take priority on space & equipment.
  • Put equipment back to its proper place. No weights are to be left on the bars.

Gym staff reserves the right to modify or prohibit any exercise considered unsafe or inappropriate for the platform area.

"Play" (Campus Solna)

  • Use only non-marking shoes.
  • Put equipment back to its proper place.
  • Be prepared to share the space with others.
  • Scheduled classes take priority on space & equipment.

"Space" (Campus Flemingsberg)

  • Use only non-marking shoes.
  • Put equipment back to its proper place.
  • Be prepared to share the space with others.
  • Scheduled classes take priority on space & equipment.
  • Barbells, dumbbells, barbells or weight plates are not allowed due to the flooring.

Anyone using the gym does so at their own risk. Make sure that you have enough knowledge and skills to perform exercises safely.

If you don´t know how to use the barbell, please book a Strength Training class or ask one of our on-site instructors.

Only KI students and employees have access to the gym. Don´t let unauthorized people in - not even family, children, relatives or friends.
