About Faculty Forum

Faculty Forum is organised by the faculty representatives on the Faculty Board, in collaboration with the faculty representatives on the Faculty Board’s committees. The faculty representatives on the Faculty Board are responsible for the forum’s overall direction and programme.

The forum is a space for discussion and exchange within KI’s academic community. Participants’ experiences, ideas and perspectives are at the centre of the discussions. The forum does not make decisions, but provides input to the faculty representatives in their continued work.

The forum is open to teachers and researchers with doctoral degrees who work at KI.

Focus of the forum

Each Faculty Forum focuses on current issues relating to research, education and academic work at KI. The discussions are based on participants’ experiences, ideas and perspectives, as well as issues identified by the faculty representatives. 

The topics should be relevant to KI as a whole or to large parts of the university. The forum does not address individual cases or matters concerning only a specific department or group.

Format and practical arrangements

Each meeting focuses on a limited number of main issues to allow sufficient time for discussion and exchange. Brief introductions or supporting materials may be provided when needed. The forum will be held across different campuses to facilitate broad participation. The working language is English, but participants may also contribute in Swedish.

How input is taken forward

The faculty representatives will consider how they can take forward the main perspectives and issues raised in their continued work. Depending on the issue, input may be brought to the Faculty Board, one of its committees or another relevant part of KI. Where relevant, subsequent Faculty Forums will include feedback on how issues raised previously have been taken forward.
