New resource allocation model - An interim solution for 2025

In order to harmonise with the model for distributing the research part of the government grants that is currently being discussed centrally at KI and to begin a change towards a sustainable permanent system, a new interim model will apply at FyFa in 2025. At the same time, a permanent system is being developed.

In 2025, the current activity model for the research component of the government appropriation will be replaced by the following:

- Professors' salaries will be paid at 50 per cent

- Senior lecturers will receive SEK 500k

- Group leaders with delegation who are not senior lecturers receive SEK 300k

- Salaries for senior professors are not reimbursed by the government grant (new KI rules centrally)

- All remuneration is based on the scope of employment (in per cent)

Note that the teaching part of the government grants is left untouched in this model. The interim solution will apply from 1 January 2025.

Goal: a permanent model in 2026

The interim model will hopefully resemble the more definitive model that will be decided on next year, but at present no guarantee can be given that this will be the case. It depends, among other things, on what KI decides centrally and on FyFa's future finances and ambitions.

During the year, FyFa's management will hold a dialogue with all group leaders about the new model. Work on the permanent model started with the PI meeting on 5 November, and a working group will now take over the work.
