RSO is responsible for providing research support for:

RSO is divided into 4 units:
GO - Grants Office
- Funding sources
- Current funding calls
- KI internal funding support
- External pre-award support:
- Swedish & Nordic funding
- European funding
- US and other international funding
- Training on internal processes for larger applications
- Coordination and signature of grant and other agreements
GMO - The Grants Management Office
- Ensures financial compliance in EU projects, in part through the review and development of processes, procedures and common templates
- Provides departmental project administrators and economists at KI with advice and support on the start-up and financial reporting of projects
- Financial administration of KI’s coordinator projects and other large, complex projects.
CDO - Compliance & Data Office
- Research documentation
- Data and information management
- Laws and regulations for externally funded projects, "non-financial compliance"
- Clinical trials, ethics and personal data management
- ELN - Electronic Logbook
EEO - External Engagement Office
- Long-term partnerships with industry
- Support for managing collaborative research, contracts and intellectual property rights
- Career Service for PhD students, postdocs and researchers
- Impact: mentorship programmes, inspirational activities and support to help researchers achieve impact
- EIT Health - operational and strategic initiatives for new projects in education, innovation and business development
Head of RSO
Björn Kull leads RSO with teams of experienced staff specialised in research and administration, scientific writing, communication and knowledge of the EU and other international and national funding bodies.
Together with the head of a department Björn Kull makes decisions for:
- Applications to the EU, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other foreign donors
- Funding agreements with these contributors
- Cooperation agreements with other grant recipients, possible additions and changes to existing applications and agreements
- Related reports and system registrations for these contributors
