Karolinska Institutet's central websites consist of, the subsites for education, news and staff. Together, they comprise about 12,000 web pages, 8,000 news articles, 12,000 documents, 10,000 profile pages for employees/associates, some 100 courses and programs.

How the web search operates

The search service searches in web pages and documents located on and the education, news and staff portal subsections - and its counterparts on the English pages.

The search service does NOT include the web pages of Karolinska Institutet's library (KIB) nor in the Learning Management system Ping pong and Canvas. However, some content from KIB's pages is copied to

Filter your search - works if you know what you're looking for

If you do not find what you are looking for, try filtering your search. You can filter by "Education", "Person", "News", "Calendar" and "Staff Portal". You can also filter so that you only for content in Swedish or English.

Search for person/employee

If you are looking for a person with a specific function, such as "Study counselor" or "Educational Technologist", you can also use the "Person" filter to get only hits in profile pages.

You can also search the last five digits of someone's phone number or an employee's KI ID.
