Wellness benefits
KI has an important role in promoting daily physical activity among staff and students. On-campus gyms, physical activity on prescription and wellness hour are some of the elements.

Physical inactivity is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a high risk factor for non-communicable diseases. Physical activity is seen as a particularly important part of achieving sustainable development and research shows that physical activity promotes both physical and mental health.
As one of the world's leading medical universities and a public employer, Karolinska Institutet has an important role in promoting daily physical activity among its employees and students. Campus-based training, physical activity on prescription and wellness hour, together with the wellness allowance, are important elements towards a more active society.
