Do you and your company or organization wish to collaborate with Karolinska Institutet? Present career possibilities to our students, PhD students and researchers in a seminar? Or perhaps offer an internship to an early career researcher?
Karolinska Institutet Career Service provides information about career opportunities through various activities like workshops and seminars. We also manage two different internship programmes.
You are most welcome to contact us to discuss different collaboration possibilities. Our students and researchers are curious how their skills are best put to use in a company or organization. Interaction with industry, governmental offices and other organizations is of great importance to get an experience about possible career paths outside academia.
Internship programmes for early career researchers
We run two internship programmes where companies and organizations have the opportunity to offer internship projects to an employed or affiliated PhD student, postdoc or researcher from Karolinska Institutet for a period of 1-3 months.
By participating in the internship programme the company or organization get the chance to recruit highly skilled candidates for short term projects and the possibility to establish contacts within the many research fields at Karolinska Institutet.
In short, the company suggests an internship project and presents it to Career Service. We announce the projects to our researchers. The company interviews candidates and do the final selection for the internship and a contract is set up. The candidate is employed by Karolinska Institutet during the internship period and financed by Karolinska Institutet for 1-3 months. For the more senior candidates, postdocs and junior researchers, who do 3 months internship the companies co-finance with a fixed sum of 32 000 SEK ex VAT.
The internships are primarily intended for companies and organizations within Sweden, but collaboration within Europe is possible and has happened in the past.
