KI Career Service manages two internship programs:

  • KI Doctoral Students: candidate is employed and financed by KI for 1 month
  • Postdocs and early career researchers: employed and financed by KI up to 3 months, companies co-finance the internship with a fixed sum of 48 000 SEK ex VAT for the total of 3 months

About internship programs

Life sciences companies and organizations (primarily within Sweden) have the opportunity to:

  • offer internship projects to an employed or affiliated PhD student, postdoc or researcher from KI
  • recruit highly skilled candidates for short term projects
  • establish contacts within many research fields at KI
  1. A company suggests an internship project and presents it to the KI Career Service
  2. Career Service announces the projects to KI researchers on the website and recruitment system
  3. Career Service organizes a Mingle event for each company/organisation to pitch their project to their target audience (projects specific for doctoral students, for postdocs and researchers, or both)
  4. The Mingle Event turns into a very popular networking event for both companies and internship candidates to meet each other before the deadline of applications
  5. The company/organisations' representative interviews candidates and do the final selection for the internship and a contract is set up
