Assignment in the Operational Plan
In the 2024 operational plan for the Department of Education and Doctoral Education Support, there is an assignment to develop a decision-making strategy for recruitment to KI's undergraduate and advanced level programs. The assignment is being carried out as a project and will continue until May 2025.
Purpose and goals
The purpose of the project is to develop a proposal for a strategy regarding recruitment to KI's undergraduate and advanced level programs. The strategy aims for KI to continue attracting motivated students, maintain high completion rates, and broaden recruitment. Ultimately, the strategy will contribute to society's need for enhanced expertise in medicine, health, and care.
The project also aims to establish a foundation for a systematic approach where recruitment efforts are continuously monitored, analyzed, and embedded. The strategy will guide employees working with recruitment and admissions and support the prioritization of recruitment efforts.
- Attract students with high academic motivation and strong prior knowledge to all KI's educational programs and independent courses.
- Broaden recruitment from underrepresented groups.
- Recruit students from a wide geographical distribution to enhance the quality and relevance of education, providing students with better opportunities to be trained in global citizenship.
- Support prospective students in making well-informed choices, thereby reducing dropout rates.
- Maintain high completion rates.
- Ensure more efficient use of KI's resources.
- Provide clearer prioritization of resources for specific recruitment needs.
- Enhance the quality of recruitment work by systematically following up and analyzing the efforts.
- Foster closer collaboration between the Education and Program Committee and the administrative support in matters related to recruitment and admissions.
- Mapping and current situation analysis covering application pressure, student population, throughput, admission and selection, organization of work, policy documents, scholarships as a means of recruiting tuition fee students, and identification of external factors that may affect KI's recruitment of students in the future
- Strategy for decision-making that includes overall goals, long-term strategic choices and a systematic approach
