Bites of Learning: Cultivating integrity in an AI world- Moving from rules to values
This session builds on our previous Bites of Learning session but works as a standalone exploration for anyone interested in fostering genuine academic integrity in the AI age. Particularly relevant for educators who want to move beyond policy frameworks to create meaningful cultural change in their teaching practice.
This conversation with Dr Karabo Maiyane explores the implications of generative AI technologies in higher education, focusing on the challenges and opportunities they present. The discussion emphasizes the importance of cultivating integrity among students and educators, rather than merely policing academic misconduct. Practical strategies for ethical AI use are proposed, alongside the significance of integrity in healthcare education. The conversation also addresses the complexities of AI detection and the need for transparent communication between educators and students.
