Freezer facility ANA Futura
On the 3rd-floor there is a approximately 600 m2 freezer facility for use by staff at ANA Futura. External users are also welcome if free space is available. Periods of use are regulated by agreement, with a specified notice period.
The freezer facility is divided into three sections: Electric freezers, CBS freezers (liquid nitrogen-cooled low temperature freezers) and open handling of liquid nitrogen. It is possible to monitor the freezers with regard to temperature and temperature history logs.
Liquid Nitrogen Safety Course
It is mandatory to attend this course if you need access to the room with Cryo-freezers in ANA Futura.
Annual refresher safety course for the freezer facility
All staff using the ANA Futura freezer facility must attend a mandatory annual refresher safety course once a year.

Registration to all courses is done via an Outlook invitation that is sent out in due time prior each occasion.

Moving of freezers
If a freezer needs to be moved, the owner will be contacted by the ANA Futura service team. Freezers are always moved in the morning so that there is plenty of time to follow up that the freezer is working as it should after reconnecting. The service team is responsible for the move and initial follow-up (until the next day), after which the responsibility passes to the owner.

I would like a freezer at the freezer facility. What do I do?
Contact the ANA Futura Service Team and look at locations.
What does it cost?
An annual fee per freezer and one tariff for upright freezers and one for chest freezers (more expensive). Freezes connected to the alarm system must have a temperature sensor installed (model PT-100). This is for temperature logging.
Can I collect liquid nitrogen in a thermos?
Yes. The freezer facility is equipped with a central tap for liquid nitrogen.
What happens in the event of a power failure?
There is a backup generator that takes over in the event of a power failure.
How do I get to the freezer facility?
Either via the stairs or using the lift. The lift is equipped with a priority operation function (i.e. it will not stop at any floor apart from the one selected).
