ROOM FOR RENT IN HAGALUND
Furnished room for rent in a shared flat at Hagalundsgatan in Solna, for phd students or postdocs or research focused master's or else working with something closely related. Single rooms are small and rents are around 3900 SEK per month for long-term stay including electricity, heating, water and 100Mbit Internet.
The flat has a fully equipped kitchen and a large newly renovated bathroom with shower and bathtub, also an extra separate WC and an infra sauna for a little relax if weather is cold. At the ground floor there are two common laundry rooms with dryers and bicycles can be parked under a roof although outside. Hagalund has cycling distance to KI, SU and KTH and also trains, busses and metro nearby.
!Sorry we haven't replied to all messages but we have received too many so don't be afraid to send a reminder!
Flat is normally shared between five people but it varies depending on demand and partners staying over for visits etc. We try to mimic having a private studio as close as possible thus everyone gets their private spot in common areas and room door shut = 100% privacy, all to increase the value of the rooms. Sharing flats is indeed a social thing and we need to keep a good atmosphere with each other but since everyone is working hard on their research there is no obligation to socialize on a daily basis. Instead we occasionally have a house meetup e.g. once a month where we spend an hour or two around the common table and share our thoughts and also invite new potential flatmates to come by and get to meet everyone and of course take a look at the rooms. Usually we pick a Saturday at 2pm but details in a private message.
We are mainly looking for long-term tenants who wants to stay for many years with planned studies or work several years ahead in Stockholm. Short-term rentals could though also be available but with a higher rent, e.g. for guest researchers doing their phd elsewhere, or depending on circumstances. Rooms are small and already furnished with bed, desk, chair, wardrobe etc. and there is thus not much space for refurnishing. A basic kit of utensils is provided but everyone can of course use their own too (although there is not much space for storage either). There is also a large room with queen size bed and a private balcony but pricier and only for someone collaborating and communicating well with the (now retired) owner speaking English, Spanish, Swedish and some German and amused by reading abstracts, introductions, methods and conclusions.
For more information preferably participate on the next house meetup and please send something about yourself and don't forget to include from what date you need a room or if dates are flexible. Availability varies when people move in and out and it happens that people switch between rooms so there might be short-term last minute temporary stay available. For long-term contracts after 6 months of stay one can choose to pay a larger deposit in advance to get the lowest monthly rent. For easier communication include your whatsapp/telegram/messenger with video feature, especially if not in town at the moment and thus can not come by for the meetup in person. We know quite a few people in and around Stockholm and can also forward requests to others who might have rooms too, so better make a full presentation with all information in one message including all contact details.

In the kitchen there's a small induction stove, microwave, mini-oven, fridge and freezer. The hall has a cupboard with good storage facilities and large mirrors.
The building has a renovated laundry room as well as a bike room.

The flat is in Gamla Råsunda in Solna, near cafes, restaurants, pubs, lakes and parks (including Solna Centrum and Mall of Scandinavia). There are very good connections within a short walking distance (T-bana, tvärbana, pendeltåg) and a bus stop just around the corner. Karolinska Institutet is only 10 minutes by bike.
We are seeking non-smoking and pet-free tenants with a stable income and good references, for a long-term contract (minimum one year). The monthly rent is 11,500 sek, and that covers everything except for internet and electricity.
The preferred moving-in is around start of December, but there might be some flexibility.
