KI Institutional Review Board (IRB)
In order to comply with American rules regarding ethical approval for projects that include certain types of human research financed with funds from American donors such as the NIH, KI has a so-called IRB (Institutional Review Board).
The KI IRB assess the project description in the application documents to the American funder against the ethical permits the researcher has in Sweden to carry out the project.
If the project is covered by the funders definition of human research, the researcher needs to submit documents to the KI IRB no later than one week before the next meeting. See below form and guidelines for instructions.
The KI IRB consists of a chairman and four members and an administrator. The chairman and members are appointed by the president.
Upcoming KI IRB meetings: Feb 13, April 3 and May 27 2025.
