Research Ethics and Compliance
Each funding body has its specific compliance regulations for research ethics and open access.
Most US funding bodies require awardees to be certified within areas relating to their project, e.g. conflict of interests, human subjects research, animal welfare, or clinical trials. To support researchers Karolinska Institutet (KI) provides training in these areas.
CITI program
KI subscribes to the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program), which offers a variety of research, ethics, compliance, and safety courses. Detailed information about the CITI program can be found on the Research Ethics and Compliance Training page.
Research Ethics
International funding agencies may have additional ethical requirements to the Swedish legislation. Therefore the funded research projects must also comply with both the international and national requirements. For questions and additional information regarding ethical requirements, please contact compliance@ki.se.
Open Access
Many funding agencies require open access to publications and more often also to the underlying data.
