Project: Migrating VIS from QlikView to QlikSense

Why migrate VIS?

The tool behind VIS (Qlikview) is no longer being developed and will soon no longer be supported. To ensure long-term, stable and modern business support, the platform needs to be migrated to Qliksense.

This provides, among other things:

• A modern, web-based interface
• Greater flexibility for users
• Predictable licence costs and lower operational risks
• Better opportunities for long-term development of VIS

How does this affect users?

All VIS applications will be migrated gradually. During a transition period, the interfaces will resemble the current ones as far as possible. Opportunities for further development will be limited while the project is ongoing. However, in the long term, users will have access to more functions.

The following will change:

• The appearance of the applications
• The navigation method
• Improved functionality

The following will not change:

• Data sources
• Your authorisation

Who will be affected?

How this affects you depends on which VIS application you use.

As a user, you can expect:

• Information before the application(s) you use are migrated
• Support material to help you get started in Qliksense
• The opportunity to provide feedback via the VIS function address
• Clear information about any changes to functions

Timeframe

The migration will take place application by application and the timetable will be updated on an ongoing basis. The project will inform users before each step. The project is currently working on: 

• Technical environment setup in Qlik Sense
• Migration of applications according to priority order
• Updating of VIS information on the Employee Portal
• Production of training materials
