Rethinking assessment for the postpandemic era: Taking stock and moving forward - September 21st, 2021
Listen to T.J. Ò Ceallaigh (Director of Taught Postgraduate Studies in Education, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, Ireland) who is doing incredible work and bringing the 21st century classroom to life through innovative assessment practices. Through the interview, you will discover T.J.’s vision for the integration of digital technologies within teaching and learning to allow pedagogy and technology to support each other.
Together with an educational developer from the Unit for Teaching and Learning, T.J. will discuss various themes around best practices in (digital) assessment as well as reflect on how to move forward with digitalisation practices, now that we can meet our students in real life again in a teaching setting.

We all start to be used to using learning platforms and video meeting tools for meetings as well as different forms of learning activities. But to be honest, it can sometimes be a bit hard to get participants and learners to keep engaged when we have that screen in between.
So what can we do to get our students to be active participants and how will that impact their learning? During this seminar we will discuss how to integrate active learning principles in an online environment.
