Study information for higher education courses

Our courses are divided into three different levels, each with different entry requirements. Introductory courses provide those who are about to start teaching with practical tools and confidence in their teaching.

The basic course provides the foundation for teaching and learning at colleges and universities and counts towards a docentship. Advanced and continuation courses require that you have completed a basic course or possess equivalent knowledge, and are designed for those who wish to build on their teaching qualifications and engage in lifelong learning. We also offer a course in doctoral supervision, which is compulsory for those who are to act as doctoral supervisors, as well as an advanced course in research supervision and educational leadership.

It is not possible to join a waiting list for an upcoming course. Further information on when applications open and how to apply can be found on the relevant course page.

We also offer many online self-paced courses that provide you with tools for your work as a university lecturer, but which do not lead to qualifications in higher education pedagogy.

When and how often are the courses held?

The courses are offered regularly on a termly, annual or every-third-term basis, as stated on the course page. Below is an overview of how often the courses are offered.
