The Faculty Board has overall strategic responsibility for the faculty's educational, research and outreach activities. The main fields of responsibility are resource allocation, quality systems, the recruitment of teaching and research personnel, infrastructure and internationalisation.

Autumn 2026 will see the launch of the first Faculty forum – a regular meeting place for teachers and researchers at Karolinska Institutet, aimed at strengthening academic dialogue, creating space for strategic discussions and providing staff with a clearer channel for feeding in their views to the teaching representatives on KI’s decision-making bodies.
