Checklist before public defence

Make sure you have:

• At least 2 published/accepted papers (see content of the compilation thesis)
• 1 opponent and 3 examiners required
• At least 30 credits and approx. 800% activity registered in Ladok
• Obligatory courses and activities completed

Application process

  1. Form 9 is digitally signed by PhD-student and all supervisors. Use Edusign.
     
  2. At least 1 weeks before the deadline of submitting application to Dissertation Committee, send the signed form 9 and the Ladok transcript to the  Director of Doctoral education.
     
  3. The Director of Doctoral education contacts the Head of Department to get a signature.
     
  4. The Form is returned to the PhD-student once the Head of Department has signed.
     
  5. At least 3 months before planned public defense, submit the application by e-mailing it to disputation@ki.se. Dissertation committee accepts only digital applications. More information about submitting to the Dissertation committee.

Digital signatures are allowed from doctoral student / supervisor / Study Director / Head of Department.

Advertisement

Public defense is advertised in both the KI Calendar and on the Digital Screens in ANA Futura. 

Fill in the digital form for announcing event on information screen/calendar (by principal supervisor or doctoral student). When you choose "Labmed" as Department the form will be submitted to the Labmed Communicator. 

The defense is published in the KI Calendar as soon as it is approved by the PhD student. For the ANA Futura screens, it is published 2 weeks before start date.
