DGEAC (The EU Directorate-general for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture)
DG EAC is the executive branch of the European Union responsible for policy on education, culture, youth, languages, and sport. DG EAC also supports these issues through a variety of projects and programmes, notably Creative Europe and Erasmus+. The Erasmus+ programme aims to boost skills and employability, as well as modernising Education, Training, and Youth work. Erasmus+ brings together seven existing EU programmes in the fields of Education, Training, and Youth. As an integrated programme, Erasmus+ offers more opportunities for cooperation across the Education, Training, Youth, and Sport sectors and is easier to access than its predecessors, with simplified funding rules.

ECCO is a non-profit association focusing on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which has established Fellowships, Grants and Travel Awards to encourage young physicians in their career and to promote innovative scientific research in IBD in Europe.
ECHO (DG for Humanitarian aid and civil protection)
In addition to financing decisions linked to humanitarian aid, the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) issues calls for tender for implementing specific activities.
Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA)
The EU Aid Volunteers initiative brings volunteers from different countries together to work in humanitarian projects worldwide. FEBS (Federation of European Biochemical Societies)
FEBS provides a range of Fellowships to support a research visit to a laboratory in another FEBS country, including Short-Term and Summer Fellowships for early-career and student researchers. It also provides funds for early-career independent researchers for research equipment and consumables (FEBS Excellence Awards, FEBS Booster Fund). In addition, grants are available for meeting organization and travel to FEBS meetings, for example for ‘Advanced Courses’, which cover timely topics in the molecular life sciences, usually with an educational emphasis.

The Hertie Foundation awards the Eric Kandel young neuroscientists prize, which recognises the work of outstanding young scientists in the field of neuroscience and helps advance their careers as researchers.
Horizon Europe
Horizon Europe, the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation has a budget of over € 95 billion and runs from 2021 to 2027. It offers a wide variety of funding opportunities for research and innovation activities through calls for proposals set out in the Horizon Europe work programmes. Applications are submitted through the EU Funding and Tenders Portal.
Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)
The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) is an international program of research support, funding frontier research on the complex mechanisms of living organisms. HFSP Research Grants support scientists from different countries collaborating on focused innovative projects that are expected to open new fields of investigation. HFSP Postdoctoral fellowships enable talented early career scientists to extend their scientific repertoire in laboratories abroad. Former HFSP Fellows who return to their home country or move to a third HFSP member country can apply for a Career Development Award to support their transition to independence.
IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research
The IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research is a non-profit organisation that promotes and supports scientific research, progress and education. The Foundation is strongly committed to backing young investigators and, to this end, offers fellowships to promote and facilitate the realisation of their postdoctoral traineeships. The Joint Programming Initiative on Neurodegenerative Diseases Research (JPND) aims to address the challenge of neurodegenerative diseases through a common research strategy and the alignment of national programmes. The Joint Programme Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR) is a global collaborative organisation and platform, engaging 29 nations to curb antimicrobial resistance (AMR) with a One Health approach

The Lady Tata Memorial Trust invites applications worldwide for International Awards to individuals to support research on leukaemia. Awards are available for studies of leukaemogenic agents, and the epidemiology, pathogenesis, immunology and genetic basis of leukaemia and related diseases. Awards are open to suitably qualified investigators of any nationality. Priority will be given to those intending to move to other centres with a view to establishing scientific collaboration between laboratories.

Awards the Heineken Prizes for scientists and scholars, which recognise and reward unique achievement in the fields of biochemistry and biophysics, medicine, environmental sciences, history and cognitive science.
Union for International Cancer Control

VolkswagenStiftung (The Volkswagen Foundation)
The Volkswagen Foundation is dedicated to drawing attention towards new areas of research and stimulating investigations which transcend the existing borders between research and practice, different disciplinary cultures, or between German and international research – including areas which may well harbor potential risk.
