Project: Change of chemical management system from KLARA to Chemgroup Pro
KI is currently introducing a new chemicals management system. Here you will find information about why the change is being made, what is changing, how it will affect you if you work with the system, when it will happen and what support is available.
Why are we changing chemicals management system?
KI’s agreement for the current chemicals management system KLARA, provided by EcoOnline, expires in January 2027 and no further extension will be granted. This also applies to other universities and higher education institutions in Sweden that use the current system solution.
To ensure long-term support for the organisation’s chemicals management, KI therefore needs to introduce a new chemicals management system.
The new system will continue to support, among other things:
- registration and inventory of chemicals
- risk assessments
- information about chemicals and chemical products
- the organisation’s work on chemical safety and chemical risks in the working environment
What does the change involve?
KI will move from the current chemicals management system KLARA to a new system called Chemgroup Pro. As part of the transition, users will encounter a new interface and partly new ways of working. In the new system, the appearance, navigation, and some functions and ways of working will differ from the current system.
Who is affected?
The change affects operations and staff who use the chemicals management system.
As a user, you can expect:
- information ahead of the transition to the new system in the form of training and support materials
- guides and instructions for common tasks
- support during the transition
What does the organisation need to do?
The organisation needs to plan for the transition and set aside time so that affected staff can take part in training and get started with and learn the new system. Information, guides and instructions will be provided on an ongoing basis and will be available in the system. More information about what each operation and user group needs to do will be provided on an ongoing basis.
