Commuter bus
The Commuter bus runs students and staff between Solna (campus Solna) and Huddinge (campus Flemingsberg) on weekdays.

Ellénius buss, new shuttle service starting on the 3rd of October 2022.
Ellénius Buss was established back in 1981, and today has one of Sweden's most modern bus fleets - for the benefit of both the environment and our passengers.
Together with our sister company Axelssons Turisttrafik in Västerås, we have a well-established operation all over central Sweden with everything from Sprinter buses for the small group to the hockey team's double-decker - and we drive all over Europe, - now also between Solna and Huddinge.
Welcome onboard!
The service is jointly funded by Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital.

The shuttle bus runs fossil-free
Since September 1st 2015, the shuttle bus between Solna and Flemingsberg, Huddinge runs exclusively on renewable fuel, by agreement between Karolinska Institutet (KI) and the Karolinska University Hospital (K).
As part of KI's environmental and sustainability work, KI has the objective of reducing the climate impact of business travel. Therefore, KI and Karolinska University Hospital has agreed that the shuttle bus between campus Solna and campus Flemingsberg should run on 100% fossil-free fuel.
The shuttle bus since September 1st runs with 100 % synthetic diesel whose raw material includes rape.
To let the shuttle bus run exclusively on renewable fuel is expected to yield an average reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of up to 90 % compared to fossil diesel (as specified by OKQ8).
The fuel meets, according to OKQ8, the requirements for sustainability criteria for biofuels, which means traceability in the supply chain and a guaranteed minimum greenhouse gas reduction.
The fuel is also classified as less dangerous than petroleum -based / fossil diesel.
Respect for the environment - both inside and outside the bus!
Ellénius Buss runs with modern, fuel-efficient buses with the lowest environmental class Euro6 (also applies to reserve vehicles), and is fueled exclusively with 100% renewable fuel (HVO100), which means a CO2 reduction of over 90% compared to fossil products (according to Shell's website).
They have chairs with high backs and headrests and automatic air conditioning.
The system works with sensors in the bus to maintain an even and comfortable temperature with optimized energy consumption. All air taken in passes filters to avoid pollen and dust.
During Corona, the buses were also equipped with filters that filter out Covid-19 in the recirculating air.
- and speaking of safety?
Ellénius buses are of course equipped with alcohol locks, seat belts and an automatic extinguishing system in the engine compartment.
