Doctoral student who has changed research subject
Instructions for supervisors when your doctoral student has changed research subject.
In 2025, UKÄ (Swedish Higher Education Authority) has decided to make a new division of the research subjects used in reporting on doctoral education.
The actual change is made in Ladok by the Ladok administrator at your department. This generates a so-called interruption in the education which is also transferred to the ISP system.
When you are to do annual follow-up (or half-time) with the support of the ISP-system next time, you must download data from your doctoral student's most recently established ISP to the doctoral student's new ISP.
The information that is included in the new ISP is the manually filled-in information (text fields, planned activities). What is downloaded from Ladok comes directly from there (courses completed, funding to date, study time used, etc.). Attachments must be added again.
- Search for your doctoral student's most recently established ISP by clicking Archived on the search page.
- Save all attachments if you don't already have them saved to your computer.
- Go to Study plans in the left menu and click on Create study plan.
- Search for the doctoral student at your department. Click Select.
- Copy the information from the old study plan by selecting the radio button and then click Create study plan (see images below).
- Go into the study plan and edit section 10. Add downloaded attachments.
