International collaboration agreements are signed at different levels at Karolinska Institutet (KI) in accordance with the President´s decision-making procedures and delegation rules at KI.

Proposals for new university-wide collaborations with foreign universities and organisations are usually prepared through the Internationalisation Board.
Types of collaboration agreements
The president decides on university-wide agreements with universities, industry or other organisations, which are not delegated, or agreements that are of particular importance to KI (for example, for security or strategic reasons).
The Academic Vice President for Higher Education decides on agreements on student exchange at programme level and on concluding agreement with foreign higher education institutions regarding education leading to dual, multiple or joint degrees at bachelor and master's level.
The Academic Vice President for Doctoral Education decides on university wide collaboration agreements in doctoral education with higher education institutions including agreements leading to dual, multiple or joint doctoral degrees.
Agreements are signed in accordance with the President’s decision-making procedures and delegation rules at KI.
