Researchers who made a difference

A more refined test for prostate cancer
Professor and Senior Physician Henrik Grönberg has worked on refining a test method for prostate cancer for more than a decade. The result is Stockholm3, a blood test that combines several markers to provide a clear risk profile when added up – improving early detection and avoiding unnecessary biopsies.

A model for better outcomes in childbirth
Midwife and Associate Professor Helena Lindgren aimed to minimise the risks during labour for mothers and children worldwide. The result is the MIMA model, which considers both the women's own experiences and evidence-based hospital routines.

A new window into cellular activity
'It is almost like going from listening to the radio to watching TV.' This is how Professor and inventor Jonas Frisén describes the novel technology of spatially resolved transcriptomics, which has opened a new window into the cellular activity of living tissue.
