Preventive measures against burglary, theft and vandalism

Everyone can contribute to safety and security by keeping track of themselves, their belongings and their surroundings.

Examples of simple steps to take:

• don't hold the door open and let strangers in - dare to ask for KI card alt. reason for visit
• make sure no one sneaks in behind you when you pass a locked door/gate - dare to ask for KI card alt. reason for visit
• never leave your computer, phone, bag, etc. unattended
• lock up valuables when you leave your room/workplace
• wear your access card visibly for everyone's safety
• never lend your KI card/access card to anyone else
• report loss of keys and KI card to sakerhetsenheten@ki.se
• upon detection of an unauthorized person, contact the security guard.

In case of crime in progress (emergency situation)

• Call 112 if you are a victim of crime or see a crime in progress, such as suspected theft, burglary or assault.
• If an unauthorized person becomes threatening, try to stay calm and keep your distance. If possible, call for attention via colleagues or passers-by.
• Incidents of threats must also be reported to KI and to the Police via a report there.

Upon discovery of burglary, theft or vandalism

• Contact the security guard and inform them of what happened.
• Do not enter the affected area, try to block off and keep others at a distance if possible.
• Incident report the theft, burglary or damage to KI via the incident reporting system.
• Report theft or loss of property to the police. An early notification makes it easier to find technical evidence and interview witnesses. More information on how to make a report to the Police.

When external guests visit KI's premises, the following applies:

• register your visitor in advance in the visitor booking system where such is available
• your visitor must wear a visitor badge that shows that he/she is authorized, where such is available
• you take responsibility for your visit as long as it lasts and collect and leave the visit in the entrance.
