Current deadlines related to doctoral courses and activities

Here you will find some key dates to be aware of when arranging doctoral courses and other doctoral education activities.

Course syllabus

31 August 2026 - deadline for submitting (for review) a new or revised syllabus in Fubas for a course that will be advertised in the course catalogue for the spring semester of 2027.

23 October 2026 - deadline for submitting (for review) a new or revised syllabus in Fubas for courses that are planned within the research schools, with a start date during the spring semester of 2027.

Course information & course occasion

14 September 2026 - deadline for entering a course information and a course occasion in Fubas for advertising in the course catalogue for the spring semester of 2027. If a course information already exists, we will use that (let us know if you need to update the content).

13 November 2026 is the deadline for the research schools to report planned course occasions with start date during the spring semester of 2027, according to instructions.

Funding of freestanding courses

31 August 2026 is the deadline for applying for funding from KPK for the spring semester of 2027. If you plan to run the course in autumn 2027 as well, we would like you to apply for this at the same time, provided that it is not a new course.

Applications for the autumn semester of 2027 only are also welcome by this deadline, but a new opportunity to apply will open in early 2027.

Note! This type of application only refers to courses that are not part of a doctoral programme or are to be fully funded in another way, see Applying for funding of freestanding courses.

Funding of courses within doctoral programmes

Contact a doctoral programme (or several) well in advance to apply for having the course included in the programme.

Funding for additional costs for courses within international collaborations

New for courses to be given in 2026 and beyond: These funds are applied for directly via the doctoral programme within which the course is given. For instructions, see funding for additional costs for KI courses in international collaborations.

Course catalogue and application period

The course catalogue for the spring semester of 2027 will be open for application during the period 15 October to 5 November, 2026.

The course catalogue is open annually for application during three weeks, 15 April - 5 May (for autumn semester) and 15 October - 5 November (for spring semester).
