KI ELN maintenance
KI ELN is run by the central IT department in accordance with KI requirements for IT security. Regular backups, as often as once every hour, are set up for the KI ELN servers.
ELN and ELNAdminWeb are working again after a user synchronisation problem on 2021-01-21
In order to solve the probem, the database was restored at 13:15 to the state it was at 11:15 on 2021-01-21
If you were logged in between 11:15 and 13:15 on the 2021-01-21 and editing experiments changes have been lost in the database that you access when logging in to ELN.
The changes you have made/the data you have uploaded between 11:15 and 13:15 on the 2021-01-21 are saved in a backup but there is not yet a procedure to send the data back to ELN. The ELN database team is trying to find a possible solution to import data from the backup into the production database.
We are continuously removing inactive ELN licenses.
ELN accounts of users that have not logged into ELN for more than 1.5 years are closed.
All experiments are saved into the database and no information is lost.
The group leader and the group members that have access to the projects under which the inactive users have saved their experiments will still be able to access the experiments of the users that are removed.
To carry out maintenance of the servers and other components, or when necessary to upgrade the system, a maintenance window has been scheduled for Thursdays between 7 pm - 10 pm.
Before any major maintenance and upgrades all KI ELN users will be notified by email. Information will be also posted on this page.
If an upgrade fails, we have to revert to the earlier version of the software. Content and edits created in between the upgrade and the reversion may be lost. You are therefore requested to not use KI ELN during the maintenance window when notified of an upgrade.
Upgrade to version 2020 SP2
The upgrade to version 2020 SP2 was perfomed on Thursday 17th of September
The new upgrade has increased stability and fixes previous faults/defects.
New features of the SP2 release include:
- a separate Powerpoint section (for PC)
- possibility to define collaborators in personal templates
- easier co-signing: a co-signer can now move on to the next experiment to sign directly from the co-signing page by pressing the “Sign next” button
- support for Chemdraw 19
Please note that after the upgrade you have to install version 2020 SP2 of the Biovia desktop Connector.
For detailed instructions look at the documents uploaded under the BIOVIA desktop connector section at https://staff.ki.se/technical-requirements.
