Order software licences

If you belong to an institution within Coordinated IT, you order centrally mediated software licences directly in the ordering portal Wisum. If you do not belong to Coordinated IT, contact your department's licence coordinator. On this page you will find a list of all the software that is renewed and managed by KI's licensing function at the IT Office.

When you have purchased a licence, you can install the application via the Software Center on PC or Self Service if you are a Mac user.

Licence models

There are three different models for how to renew and pay for your licence.

Subscription licence

The licence initially runs for a year. After that, the licence is automatically renewed, and you can cancel it with three months' notice. You will be charged monthly in the Companion billing system.

Indefinite licences

You pay a one-time fee for the licence and can then use the application without limitation on a fixed number of devices. This form of licence is unusual today, but was common in the past. For security reasons you can not install software that is no longer being updated by the developer.

Remember to cancel your subscription licences

When you finish your employment at KI or change department and no longer need your licences, it is important that you cancel them to avoid the cost continuing. Terminate your licences through your licence coordinator or through Helpdesk if within Coordinated IT.

Prices and ordering

You will find prices for each licence in the ordering portal Wisum. Some prices may be an approximate price and vary slightly depending on the dollar exchange rate.

Software not available in portal

To order software that is not listed on this page, you use our licence partner SoftwareONE's webshop in UBW E-handel. In some cases, you will receive access to install the software immediately upon ordering, but the software cannot be used until it is activated using the information provided to you upon delivery.

For departments outside coordinated IT: contact your licence coordinator who will order the software directly from our licence partner.

Keep in mind that you are responsible for the products following the existing guidelines and that you are responsible for managing the renewals of your software. Before your order is placed, it will go through an attestation process - please notify the project attestators in advance.

Always the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro. Used to create, view and edit PDF documents. Available for Windows and macOS.

Adobe Creative Cloud CCE (all applications including Acrobat Pro)

Always the latest version of all Adobe Creative Cloud software, (eg: Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, In Design CC, Acrobat DC etc). Available for Windows and macOS.

Affinity Suite contains the software Photo, Designer and Publisher. An alternative to Photoshop, Illustrator och InDesign. Available for Windows and macOS.

Used to produce scientific illustrations for use in articles, among other things.

Popular reference management application linked to Microsoft Word. Available for Windows and macOS.

Type of licence: Subscription licence (until autumn 2022 available as an indefinite licence which needed to be upgraded. This is no longer necessary).

Relational database software. Available for Windows and macOS. For some applications, a server installation may be required as an additional service.

GraphPad Prism

GraphPad Prism is a statistical software. Available for Windows and macOS.

  • The application can be installed on a maximum of 1 computer.
  • 1 licence per installation/computer – When you change computers, the old computer need to be deactivated to not be treated as an additional activation (which requires one additional licence). Contact Helpdesk for this.

Terms of use for you as an employee or affiliated

  • Installation & use on the employee’s privately owned device: No.
  • Installation and use on number of devices (per licence): Maximum 1 device/licence. Installation is bound to the computer name and the MAC-address of the computer.
  • Commercial use: No.

The renewal takes place automatically; please disregard the renewal messages sent by the application.

As long as you wish to continue using GraphPad Prism on your computer, you do not have to act.

You can find the application in Software Center or Self Service if you are part of Coordinated IT. Otherwise, contact your Licence Coordinator.

NOTE: Your GraphPad Prism is connected to the computer which it was first activated on. When you change computers, the old computers GraphPad needs to be deactivated to not be handled as an additional licence. Please inform Helpdesk about this before installation in that case.

JMP Pro - DISCONTINUED

Soon to be replaced with JMP Student Edition which will be free of charge.

Matlab

MATLAB is an advanced application for technical calculations and interactive environment for developing algorithms, data visualization, data analysis and numerical calculation. KI's licences include all MATLAB toolboxes. Available for Windows, macOS and Linux.

Microsoft Planner and Project Plan 3 / 5

Planner and Project Plan is an application for planning, following up and to some extent reporting a project or a portfolio of projects. It is offered as either Plan 3 or Plan 5. Available for Windows and through the browser (limited version).

Microsoft Visio Professional Visio is an application used to create diagrams and vector graphics. Available for Windows and through the browser in a limited version.

Statistical Analysis System is a collection of computer applications for data processing, statistical analysis and reporting. Available for Windows and Linux.

If the application no longer works, those with an older version of SAS will need to install a later version.

Scrive

Scrive allows you to send, sign and manage documents on any device. For more information, see Electronic signatures with Scrive.

SIMCA is a data analysis solution that enables you to extract, model, and interpret complex data from spectroscopy, omics, and other sources.

Available for Windows, macOS, and in VDI.

SnapGene is a software for everyday molecular biology that allows you to plan, visualize, and document DNA cloning and PCR.

Stata is a powerful statistical software package that provides a comprehensive set of applications for data analysis. The licence provides access to StataNow, which includes the latest features continuously. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux as well as for VDI.

Type of licence: Annual licence.

ZOOM-webinar

All KI users can host webinars for up to 500 participants. In addition, special licences can be ordered for 1000 participants. If there is a need for larger volumes - indicate this in the Wisum order comment box.

Available for Windows, macOS and Linux as well as Android and iOS.

Software included in the IT fee

The departments and the professional services pay the IT Office a fee for their affiliates and employees every year.

The fee enables the IT Office to offer a secure and updated IT environment for you to work in. In addition to services, this fee also includes a number of software applications.
